Michael P. McRae, PhD

Bio

Dr. McRae is a bioengineer specializing in the development of next-generation in vitro diagnostics (IVD) and AI/ML algorithms. His work has resulted in over 50 publications and patents, numerous awards, and startup companies working to commercialize his inventions. Since 2016, he has served as a consultant for 10+ clients in industry and academia, and he is a co-founder and technical lead of several startup companies. He has played key technical roles in 16+ state/federal funded grants and contracts, and his grant writing has helped startups and research labs raise over $12.6 M. His primary interest is the integration of AI/ML with diagnostics to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of health care. Dr. McRae received his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Rice University and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, cum laude from Saint Louis University.
